[...] The first Canadian carrier announced to get the Samsung Galaxy S was Bell Wireless, though along with that announcement came the promise that other Galaxy S phones would make their way to the country. The phone announced for Bell was named as the Vibrant, though it was not clear whether it would be the same Vibrant that was released for T-Mobile or a different version of the Galaxy S sporting the same name. Now we are getting word of a second Canadian carrier to receive the Galaxy S. The latest is that Rogers will be getting the phone sometime in September. [...]

[...] Android Headlines are reporting that Rogers will be launching the Galaxy S in September. Bell Canada also announced that they will be launching the Galaxy S in late July. It’s not confirm that which version of Galaxy S is hitting Rogers, but we can make a guess that it’s the AT&T one which is known as the Samsung Captivate, because both carriers share the same 3G bands. Well, that’s not confirm yet which model will hit Rogers, perhaps they will get their very own model. [...]

well considering the legend is using HVGA and a 600mhz ARM v6 CPU and 512mb of ram

The Liquid has a 768mhz ARM v7 which can be OC to 1GHZ via rooting the phone (easy as running a fastboot command) so when overclocked and installed a custom rom on it - it is very much the equal of a nexus in terms of specs....

I wonder if you know anything about the technical specifications of the phones your discussing

A 600mhz soc on the milestone is less powerful than the snapdragon and also u cannot install a custom rom if ur life depended on it

Its not a droid

Learn your stuff maybe?

Well Alan i disagree with your reply

Liquid E - has nothing on the Nexus one in regards to performance and is very vanilla and i would call it a mid-level device.

The Desire is very close to the nexus one and coming soon.

The Legend runs a lot more smooth and has more bells and whistles then Acer Liquid as well i would say is overall better phone.

Acer liquid does not stack up to milestone which is bascily a droid.

I respect your views as your own but i have extensively tested all of these units and can post accurate information based on those tests.

I think the point of the last part of the article was to be that Rogers has not really released any highend devices to keep up with what the other carriers are doing.Releasing the Galaxy S a month and half later is like playing catch-up.

The Acer Liquid is pretty much same specs as Nexus 1 just clocked lower

The desire is not even out and the Legend is more mid range than the liquid...

Please - some accurate information would be good when your comparing phones on carriers

The Acer liquid stacks up nicely against the milestone from telus and the legend from bell - but I am please to get the Galaxy S for Rogers - will be upgrading as soon as released

[...] Android Headlines is reporting that Rogers Canada is going to be releasing the Samsung Galaxy S to our Canadien Android bretheren this September. There is no word as of yet as to which version of the Galaxy S that Rogers will get, although there is speculation that it will be similar to the Captivate from AT&T. With the reported speeds of the 3G network in Canada, it would not surprise me however if they got one closer to the Sprint Epic that is coming out soon, sporting a front facing camera that can make video calls over cell towers, and not just wifi.
