Lenovo is new in the smartphone market, and for a new company it has managed a pretty impressive feat. It sold 100,000 units in a little over 1 month, which is about the same number of iPhones sold when it launched in China. Lenovo is expecting to sell 1 million units by the end of the year.

The mobile market is very important to Lenovo, as it should be to any PC/laptop manufacturer that wants to remain relevant over the next few years, when the mobile market is going to be the hottest market to be in, and where most of the growth will be.

Lenovo wants to make their smartphone popular in China first, before starting to sell it overseas. The smartphone must’ve saved their profits from declining, because one year ago Lenovo suffered a $16 million loss, and now it gained $54 million.
