Motorola Charm: Another Phone Rooted
Well, that didn’t take long, did it? The Universal Androot procedure supposedly works like a charm when used on the… Motorola handset. Also known as One-Click Root, and originally set up to root the Nexus One, this handy app works on many other devices as well. And now it’s confirmed on the Motorola Charm, which was released all of a week ago.
The latest version of Universal Androot is 1.6.2 beta 5, and can be downloaded by clicking this link. So, why would you want to root your Charm? Screen saving. Tethering. Control. Moo-ha-ha-ha!
While this isn’t an unlock, and you can return your phone to unrooted simply by clicking the other app choice button, be sure you know what you’re doing before attempting to mod any device. Read a bit more about the procedure on XDA Forums, read all the comments, and if you don’t understand something, hold off on trying it. Neither XDA Forums nor this site nor anyone else we link to or who links to us is responsible if you brick your device.
