Simple 1 Click Root With Universal Androot!
It is now easier than ever to root your phone. Universal Androot is an application that allows you to root and unroot your phone with the click of a button. The best part is that even after you root your device, you can still get OTA updates to your device. Also, many Android phones are supported and more will be added soon.
According to the developer, the same methodology used to root the Droid 2 was used in this app for other Android devices. See the list below:
Devices currently supported:
- HTC Hero (2.1)
- Google Nexus One (2.2)
- HTC Magic (1.5)
- Dell Streak (2.1)
- Motorola Milestone (2.1)
- Motorola XT701
- Motorola XT800 (2.1)
- Motorola ME511
- Sony Ericsson X10 (1.6)
- Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro (1.6)
- Acer Liquid (2.1)
- Vibo A688 (1.6)
Devices not yet supported:
- Samsung i9000 (Galaxy S)
- Samsung i6500U
- HuaWei U8220
- HTC Desire / Legend / Wildfire
Those of you looking to snag this program will not find it in the Android Market. You will need to follow this link to the XDA site to download. I have seen many positive results posted. Give it a try if you dare!

Hi there,
I am a bit new to the whole android root thing. First I believe its great to create such app, especially after looking at many forum with a long list of instruction on how to root.
However, what are the benefits of me rooting my HTC Hero 2.1 now? What I will get if I click on Root? What extra I can get or do to my phone?
Thank you soooo much in advance
