New Tapas Operating System Based On Android

| September 10, 2010 | Comments (0)

Here’s an odd one for you.  The ex-president of Google China, Kai-Fu Lee, has just announced that he is starting up a project for a new mobile operating system that will be based on Android.  It’s unclear why this is necessary or even wanted as Lee only mentioned three new functions, and all of them could be taken care of with apps within the already existing Android framework.

The new Tapas OS will feature in-music-player lyric gathering, syncing with Chinese social networks, and a display of the originating city of an incoming call.  This is such a grand redesign!  [sarcasm]

We shall see, wont we?
