Gameloft Announces HD Gaming Coming to the Galaxy Tab
Gaming and tablets seem to go hand-in-hand since the release of the iPad, and we are getting closer to the release of the first major contender to its reign with the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
It seems like Gameloft is planning on releasing three of its HD games for the Tab when it’s released, Asphalt 5 HD, N.O.V.A. HD, and Let’s Golf HD. These should run great on the 1Ghz Hummingbird processor that Samsung has in the Tab. It also looks like Gameloft is planning on releasing more of its HD games on the Tab according to the background on Gameloft’s Galaxy Tab twitter page.
The one downside of all this is that it looks like Gameloft is sticking to its current distribution model of only selling their games via their web store, at least for the time being. This may end up posing a problem since to be able to get games you have to enter a phone number and they text you the link, and it has been documented that the US variants of the Tab will not support voice calling (Google Voice anyone?). Hopefully Gameloft finds a different distribution model for these games.
At the end of the YouTube video there was a list of other games that say coming soon, Heart of Sparta, Modern Combat: Sandstorm, Gang$tar: West Coast Hustle, and Dungeon Hunter. All in all seems pretty promising to be making a huge splash when the Tab finally does make its way across the pond to us here in America.

Who knows if these are going to be free to play or if they are just going to be demos that are going to be on the Tab with the option to pay to upgrade to the full version. We already know that Gameloft is working on optimizing games for the Tab. [...]
