Apple Sues Motorola over MultiTouch

| November 1, 2010 | Comments (1)

It’s beginning. Apple’s suing sniper is scouting for targets and Motorola got into the scope first. Apple is suing Motorola over all of its newest Android OS handsets that have multitouch capability. In addition to the multitouch claim, Apple is bringing Motorola to court for:

  • Object-Oriented System Locator System
  • Touch Screen Device, Method, and Graphical User Interface for Determining Commands by Applying Neuristics
  • Method and Apparatus for Displaying and Accessing Control and Status Information in a Computer System.
  • Support for Custom User-Interaction Elements in a Graphical, Event-Driven Computer System.

Two things would eventually happen if Motorola loses. Either Motorola changes the way its handsets handle multi touch or pay a large sum of settlement money to Apple. It won’t affect the end users much but this is indeed a bad day for Motorola.
