Cricket Wireless to Offer a Prepaid Android Tablet

Cricket Wireless, the regional prepaid phone service, today announced that they to are entering the tablet game. It happened at CES Unveiled in New York, the annual pre-CES event where accredited journalist get to have a sneak peek at what’s going to be seen at the actual CES in Las Vegas Jan 6-9.

The tablet is going to compliment their two offerings that they currently have of Android, the Kyrocera Zio and the Huweai Ascend. Matt Streiber and Greg Lund of Cricket also said that the carrier is going to be releasing another Android device, that is going to be running Éclair (Android 2.1) and will be a touchscreen phone.

Not many more details are available as of yet, other than the fact that the tablet will be running Froyo (Android 2.2) not sure yet is it is going to be upgraded to Gingerbread (Android 2.3).
