HTC Thunderbolt Will Launch with Mobile Hotspot After All

| January 31, 2011 | Comments (2)

Even though it seems that we just posted the news that mobile hotspot would not be a feature of the HTC Thunderbolt on launch day, Verizon seem to have already changed their minds. According to this internal document, the Thunderbolt – the first 4G device to land on Big Red – will indeed come out-of-the-box ready to provide hotspot access for up to 8 devices. This is definitely good news for those considering the upgrade, especially when combined with the fact that the Thunderbolt is the only CDMA phone on Verizon to handle both voice and data at the same time.

No word yet on whether they’ve also done a 180 on the inclusion of Skype, but we’ll keep you posted.
