Will HTC Launch Their First Tablet in March?

| January 21, 2011 | Comments (1)

HTC, like many other big name players are all in the process of having an extremely exciting year.  This is the year of tablet PC’s for sure.  A rumor has been announced today that HTC will begin shipping their first of three tablet devices in March.  The first being dubbed the HTC Flyer.  The Flyer has rumored to have the appearance of a larger version of the HTC Desire.  Also rumored to be shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will be upgradeable to Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

So now we know two of the three “named” devices, HTC Flyer and the HTC Scribe.  The third name will most likely follow soon.  Hopefully in time for the Mobile World Congress coming up in February.  Wouldn’t it be nice if they debuted all three then?  If your as much of a fan of HTC as I am, one would only hope.

One thing for sure we know, that it is not being sold through Verizon.  They had announced ten 4G devices to be launched by the first half of this year at CES in January.  And a HTC tablet was not one of the ten devices.  Assuming it is a 4G tablet.

HTC has rumored to be trying to get ahead of the crowd, being Motorola and BlackBerry.  Motorola releasing their tablet known as Xoom, and BlackBerry’s Playbook.  Those originally being expected to launch in the second quarter of this year, but Motorola was bumping up their timeline to possibly March as well.  Who will win the race to get their tablet out first?  Better question is, who will release their first tablet on the best network?
