4G LTE Upgrade Process for XOOM, Send it Back to Motorola

| February 24, 2011 | Comments (5)

The question on early Motorola Xoom adopters’ minds’ is how and when will they receive their upgrade to Verizon’s new 4G LTE network.  The upgrade is free as was advertised and it will arrive 90 days after launch, think May if you’re holding out.

The bad news is that you will have to send your device to Motorola for the speedy upgrade and will be without the device for 6 days. The upgrade will be available for 6 months from rollout. While not shipping initially with LTE is a negative, it is a free upgrade and you can still use Wi-Fi and 3G in the meantime. Are you holding out or rushing out to get the Honeycomb goodness being released Feb. 24th at Verizon and Best Buy?
