Android 2.3 Gingerbread Headed To Galaxy S Next Month!
Looks like Galaxy S users will be getting some Gingerbread love as Samsung is set to roll out Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread) to their devices next month. Announced at a Samsung blogger event in Frankfurt, it has now been confirmed through twitter by Frank Feil.
Will this update be pushed out to the European Galaxy S only? We’re not sure. It is more than likely that US carriers will not be receiving the update until some time later, seeing as some Galaxy S devices have just now received the Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) update. So US Galaxy S users, I wouldn’t get too excited.
Also, Samsung layers their TouchWiz user interface on top of their builds, meaning do not expect the clean Gingerbread builds that Nexus One and Nexus S users are now seeing available for their devices. Nevertheless, this is still a very welcomed update.
