Leak: Incredible 2 and Merge to Appear Incredibly Soon!

| February 28, 2011 | Comments (2)

HTC Incredible S will be renamed Incredible 2 and will be available on Verizon in the coming weeks as its code name was found on a leaked release sheet. UK customers are already enjoying the availability but thankfully those of us stateside won’t be far behind.

HTC ADR6350, the last item above, is revealed in this next photo to indeed be the Incredible 2.  Note the first item.  The suffix refers to various accessories, colors, and styles, so don’t worry about VW, PKSP, etc.  It’s all the same phone.

Will the Incredible become even more incredible? According to photos from Engadget we can expect auto rotating home keys (Back, Settings, Home, Search), hard buttons for volume, Froyo on release (Gingerbread in Q2), and a very sleek design. Being a world phone, it looks like HTC will be marketing this towards business types and not worry so much about outfitting it with all the bells and whistles.

The HTC Merge (item ADR6325 above) is another world phone that will probably appeal to businesses more than the Incredible 2, thanks to the physical keyboard  attached. The downside to Merge is that Bing will be its search engine. The good thing is that it too will come equipped with Froyo at launch. Other benefits include: 720p recordable video, a well-spaced keyboard, and high quality manufacturing common to HTC products.

  1. I must say i am not very excited by these single core phones, they would have been cool last year…..

I agree, I thought the Inc 2 was going dual. I knew the Merge was just minor updates. I'm hearing they are putting LTE radios in them though. Which is unexpected. We'll see, still a rumor.

I really think next year will be the year of choices for LTE and/or dual core phones. More options coming. One year contracts are a way to go so you can keep updated. That is if you don't just buy your phones out right. They're apparently getting ridiculously pricey though.
