Motorola: all our High-End Smartphones will have Webtop this Summer
The Motorola Atrix is the first of its kind smartphone with Webtop dock functionality.
The Dock has most of the functionality of a Netbook or at least more functionality then any other smartphone. Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha has just told investors at a Morgan Stanley event that the Atrix will not be the only device receiving the functionality. He stated all future high-end Motorola smartphones will feature Webtop docks of their own.
The only reason that the Bionic is not shipping with a dock of its own was apparently due to time constraints but we can expect all products released from June on to come with one. Hopefully the docks are interchangeable and can be used with other capable Motorola smartphones.
Motorola Atrix is not a one of a kind and this will undoubtedly lead to more development and upgraded functionality for the platform spin-off. Let’s just hope this move brings down price as well to lure more adopters to the Motorola Atrix and other high-end Motorola Smartphones .

Its nice to know at least the option is there
Options are great, and I would like to try it out. But seems gimmicky right now. I probably don't fully understand the value in it. But as of right now, I think Moto did it right with the pricing on the Atrix itself. I wonder if they purposely made it cheaper so people can justify buying the dock or whatever else. And I hate to say it, but I would almost choose the Atrix over the Bionic. It seems to be a better phone for specs.
I agree I'm not sure why it got skimped in the memory department 512 V 1gb
A webtop is a great idea and should be on all phones just not high-end, these docks in my mind are so-so and am not sold on them! The pricing on them is another whole different story but if they want people to sue these docks they better price them more affordable.
I'm not sold either I'm going to need more functionality if they ran Chrome OS when connected to the dock then that would make it a greater proposition, that would just seem to make more sense.
