Motorola’s Milestone XT720 Gets its Just Desserts
Well Motorola, you either like challenging people or you like to say things just to say them. Too many recent events have been going on where Motorola has said something they probably shouldn’t have.
Well, this one wasn’t really on them. Motorola recently put a comment on their own website saying the Milestone XT720 would not be receiving an upgrade to Froyo. Well little did they know that an XDA Developer known as Dexter_nlb created a ROM and released it for everyone to snack on. You can find Dexter’s latest uk kernel on XDA’s website here.
This phone has decent specs. It has a 3.7 inch, 480 x 854 screen, a 720 MHz TI OMAP3440 processor, Android 2.1, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 8 megapixel camera (with Xenon flash) and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
It originally released overseas and is available in the U.S. on Cincinnati Bell.

Is obvious that Motorola is not supporting phones that have not sold well or had limited hardware and honestly it is understandable for them to do that but i think a better long term solution has to come instead of just stopping OS updates for these phones. If they are not willing to support them any longer they should either give more support to mod community to sell updates for the phones so they can recoup some of the cost of updating the phones.
Definitely. I just don’t trust Motorola. Just like you said, unless if I get the Bionic, or the X or if you get the Atrix you shouldn’t expect much out of them. I wonder if that’s partially on Android though. Just like Microsoft or Apple users complain about Android. That you have to upgrade everything individually rather than all at once. Although Microsoft is about the same.
