Amazon Appstore Officially Open For Business

The Amazon App Store is finally available for download and is already populated with a good collection of apps ands games. Today only as a Grand Opening special the brand new Angry Birds Rio is a free download, I just played a few minutes of it and its a great continuation of  the game we all love. The Amazon store has an exclusive on the game so you won’t be able to download it anywhere else head on over to the Appstore and check it out.

Is The Amazon Appstore Better Than Google’s Market?

The Amazon Appstore appears that it will offer one free paid app per day, which seems a like a good enough incentive to give it a try even if your attached to Google’s Market. You also get the benifit of Amazon checkout and since I already have an account with them as I am sure many of you do it’s a very simple purchase process.

The layout pictured is intuitive and is definitely better than the first iteration of the Google Market. It is too early to know if Amazon will have enough developer support, and if they can fix the app discovery problems that have plagued the market so far. Give it a try and let us know what you think about the Amazon Appstore?
