Are There Too Many Android Tablets?
Too Many Android Tablets?
An analyst recently wrote an editorial saying that the influx of Android tablets into the market will lead to oversupply and a negative impact on the Google tablet OS. While the article makes a few good points manly the tablet is a luxury item and the phone is a necessity. While also pointing out that the many options from different manufacturers as a draw back stating no one option will be able to compete with the likes of the iPad.
I have to disagree with the author’s opinion that the many options will cause everyone to lose, for the same reason that the many options have been an amazing asset for the phone implementation of Android. While no one option will be able to compete with the iPad in terms of sales over time the entire platform will gain traction and control more market share than iOS. There will be different sizes and price points depending on what your specific needs are so one should have no problem finding an option that suits them best.
The tablet market is still at its infancy stage and has tons of room for growth. As long as Google continues to invest in the platform and developers start making new and tablet oriented applications there is no reason the platform should not be a success and no reason that the number of available options should not be a success in their own right. What is your take on the future of Android Tablets?

It looks more like companies are trying to capitalize on the tablet craze. The other obvious issue is quality, those cheepies will disappear as more serious contenders arrive.
I think its also the uncertainty about the future in regards to laptop, netbook, and even the desktop. Everyone wants to have a presence in the market, not missing the boat.
I'm just curious what the most desired size will be, for me, I think it will be 5".
I think 5" is too close to a phone at 4.3" that would make no sense for me. I feel that the Galaxy Tab 8.9 might be the perfect size…wonder what price will be
I agree the size is close to a phone, but I'm trying to get away from cellular anyway. I'm also waiting on the asus eee transformer, but at 10.1" or 8.9" mobility, or should I say on the hip is out of the question. That's why I said 5".
Too much tech is never enough!

I haven't tried many of the Android tablets, but have read a whole lot of reviews, and I think that until there is a real threat to the iPad, there can't be too many. However, the crappy ones are really giving Android tablets a bad name.
