XDA user indirect has put together a better, easier way to achieve root on the new Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet. Although root has been achieved on the device for a while, this process is the easiest of them all. In order to obtain root with this new method, all you need to do is right some files to an SD card, insert the card into the Nook Tablet, and reboot the tablet. This method works on Nook Tablet versions up to 1.4.1. Rooting with the SD card gives you a full-fledged Android tablet, complete with Google apps and access to the Android Market.
