Motorola Q4 earnings: 5.4 million smartphones and only 200k tablets shipped for an M loss

Motorola released their Q4 and full 2011 numbers yesterday, and things don’t look so good. Overall, the company lost million on revenues of .4 billion. Last year during the same period, they earned 0 in profits.

When it comes to units moved, Motorola shipped out 10.5 million phones during Q4 2011, a slight decrease from Q4 2010′s 11.3 million figure. Out of the phones shipped during Q4, 5.3 million were smartphones. Tablet wise, Motorola shipped only 200,000 tablets during Q4; looks like the Xyboard 8.2 and Xyboard 10.1 weren’t a major hit at Verizon.
